Founded by White Sisters in 1902 August as an aid post for victims of Sleeping sickness.
Catholic faith-based from inception.
Property of the Diocese of Masaka,
Managed by Bannabiikira sister from 1976.

St.Lawlance Nursing And Midwifery Training School
Started 1979 as Enrolled Nurses Training School.
Turned Comprehensive 2006 and enrolled midwifery in 2011

Tutor: Student ratio 1: 37  Still very high. The Ideal should be 1:20-25

VILLA MARIA HOSPITAL AIDS PROGRAM
Villa Maria Hospital is a Faith Based founded hospital in Kalungu District –Masaka.
The hospital has offered HIV care since 1989 through it community Arm (Villa Maria Hospital Home Care Program).
Currently Funded by CDC through Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau (UCMB) ACT program
Works in partnership with 9 lower level health units (6 Government, 3 PNFPs) to extend care and prevention interventions.
Now implementing Safe Male Circumcision as one of the key HIV prevention interventions.
