Villa Maria Hospital is, based on the imitation of Christ and His deeds, to promote life to the full and to heal.  The hospital is therefore committed to a holistic, integrated and sustainable action in health.  This includes treatment, prevention, health promotion, social welfare and economic empowerment through community programmes and training of health workers for over 100 years our guiding principles have been to provide quality, accessible and affordable healthcare services. This commitment means that we strive to offer patient-centered care in an environment that promotes the healing of mind, body and spirit, we also endeavor to bring up-to-date advances in medical technology along with highly trained staff and doctors. Since the person is at the Centre of all activities of the hospital, a basic attitude or respect for the human dignity will be the guidance for all and no distinctions of ethnic origin, social status; religious or political affiliation will be made.  The principle of subsidiarity will therefore be applied with equity in all relationships within the hospital network.

HOME CARE PROGRAM

It has offered HIV Care since 1989 supported by Catholic Relief Services and currently supported by Uganda Episcopal Conference (UEC)/Rakai Health Sciences Program and USAID for WASH project. The Hospital Home Care Program is an integral department of the hospital with an extended outreach arm to restore hope, dignity and quality of life of people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and contributes to prevention of new HIV infections.
